Small Cap

Core Strategy

Argent Capital’s® Small Cap Core Strategy is a bottom-up fundamental strategy consisting of 60-80 U.S. stocks with market capitalizations of less than $3 billion each. The goal of this strategy is long term outperformance of the Russell 2000® Index.  Each name in the portfolio demonstrates characteristics consistent with our Change-Based Investing SM approach. Our process allows us to identify pricing inefficiencies in smaller capitalization companies due to lack of effective research, a stock’s trading liquidity and lower institutional ownership. The Small Cap Core Strategy is comprised of two distinct styles:

Growth

We seek to identify companies with significantly lower valuations than the average company in the Russell 2000® Index with greater than average sales and earnings growth.

Value

We seek to identify companies trading at significant discounts to the average company in the Russell 2000® Index with reasonable appreciation potential and attractive risk/reward characteristics.

We believe that by including both growth and value companies, we are able to enhance opportunities for outperformance.

Consists of two distinct styles: growth and value. Two styles enhance our opportunities for outperformance.
