Argent Capital Management becomes fully employee-owned

Long-only equity manager Argent Capital Management employees took ownership of the remaining 11% held by external investors.
Long-only equity money manager Argent Capital Management is now 100% employee-owned, spokeswoman Stephanie Dirscherl said in an email.
Current employees purchased the remaining 11% minority stake owned by outsiders effective Dec. 31, she said. She did not disclose the names of the outside stakeholders.
The St. Louis-based boutique manager was founded in 1998 by Steve Finerty, now chairman of the firm.
“We have been working toward this ownership goal for some time now and are thrilled to be in this position,” Mr. Finerty said in the news release.
Argent Capital Management, which has $3.5 billion in assets under management, offers domestic large-cap growth, midcap, smidcap, small-cap and dividend select equity strategies.
